I actually visit Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco every year and every year I still think that’s it’s incredible that the camp was used for the movie. I’ve even slept in one of the cabins used for certain scenes in the movie itself!

I can understand why they wouldn’t want friday the 13th fans on their property , but they could make alot of money if they gave tours of the place . it looks so cool there.
I recently went to the camp in October 2012. I parked my car on the street off of the property and walked on to the property and took pictures and one of the grounds keepers came up to me and asked what i was doing and said i was just taking pictures and he sped off to the front and blocked my car in and took pictures and threatened to turn me in for trespassing. He was extremely mean too. I don’t suggest going there without permission unless you are certain that nobody is there. He didn’t turn me in or press charges or anything, but it did scare the hell out of me. Also, when i passed the diner it looked deserted like they weren’t open anymore.
Sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience at the camp, Chelsea. While it’s understandable the grounds keeper would be wary of a stranger wandering around, he still should have been more polite – whether they like it or not, the camp was the setting for one of the most loved horror movies of all time. They have to expect the odd fan traipsing around. Good to hear everything turned out okay at the end.
I was a young Boy Scout in the very early 1950s, and went to Summer Camp there. An exciting adventure for a boy from a small town in Northern NJ. There are many stories I could tell about my brief visit.
You were a lucky camper! It’s a beautiful area and a lovely camp. Out of curiosity, are you a fan of Friday the 13th? And, presuming you’ve seen the original movie, did you recognise the camp when you watched it?
I would love to check out the grounds during off season…sounds like there’s a groundskeeper 24/7 though. How does one get permission anyways? do you just go to the campgrounds office/owners?
I lived in Blairstown for about 10 years, and this one is to you Chelsea, the town stores always closed early except the Blairstown Inn and The Forge(both bars). If you wanted diner food late at night, you had to travel East lol

These photos were taken 13 thirteen years, with a disposable camera, and so they’re as good as I can make them. And living on the other end of the world, it’s very hard for me to take any more.
Spent a Boy Scout weekend here in 1981. We were told the story about the movie by the Ranger. Scared us to death, but we had a lot of fun. I sure miss that place. Only time we were ever there. My boys almost had a camp out with Boy Scouts in 2013, but they cancelled the trip because of heavy snow.
Been there dozens of times. I watched them film the movie. My grandma’s house was on hope rd by Moravian cemetery. I remember the town’s people were upset because the film crew made a mess and left it. lol.

I didn’t have permission to be at the camp, and as it was off-season, all the doors were locked.
